Portal: Observatory Dome, left side near the Ammo Cache.
Save note: Unsafe; the pistol can disappear after a reload.
Unlock steps
- Reach round 20, then pick up the grey pistol only when you are ready to count kills.
- Kill exactly the same number of zombies as the round number when you collected the pistol. For example, a pickup on round 20 means exactly 20 pistol kills.
- Check the Observatory Dome wall or lower telescope area, the Luminarium dirt pile or Ammo Cache path, the Machina Astralis bar counter, and the Archives of Orbis bookshelf lane for the pistol.
- Finish the round with a different weapon once the pistol kill count matches the pickup round.
- Enter the Observatory Dome portal after the round ends.
Trial rules and prep
Fight through four waves with a Pack-a-Punch I pistol. Waves 1 and 3 are progress waves; the HVT zombie waves can include Klaus zombies, a Mimic, and finally an Uber Klaus zombie.
- Use the weapon stats screen to verify the pistol count, and stop immediately when it matches the round.
- Avoid passive kill sources like Elemental Pop or Wisp Tea while counting because they can muddy the exact pistol total.
- Rarity upgrades and Insta-Kill help the pistol feel less weak, but Pack-a-Punching during the count can be risky if your setup has shown pickup glitches.
- Bring a second weapon specifically for finishing the round after the pistol count is locked.
