Cursed requirement: Cursed Mode Tier 1, 2, or 3 required.
Portal: Zarya Cosmodrome, beneath the rocket while facing west.
Save note: Safe before round 40.
Unlock steps
- Reach round 40, then damage a Zursa until a knife strike will finish it.
- Collect the bottle dropped by the knife-finished Zursa.
- On round 40 or later, complete the legendary TEDD Task and collect the second bottle near the task reward.
- Carry both bottles to the Blackwater Lake wine bar.
- After placing the bottles, watch the burst order immediately. When the bottles reset, shoot them in the same order to open the portal.
Trial rules and prep
Your essence is removed when the trial begins. Waves 1, 3, and 4 build progress; waves 2 and 5 can bring Doppelghast and Mimic HVTs.
- The TEDD Task bottle can appear near the task reward rather than directly on top of it.
- Pay attention the instant the bottles are placed, because the order cue happens quickly.
- Spend or craft before entering the trial; any unspent essence will be stripped anyway.
- A Pack-a-Punch III Necrofluid Gauntlet keeps the no-essence trial simple because you are less dependent on ammo buys.
